Ginger Matcha Latte

To celebrate launching our Matcha Lip Balm, we are sharing some of our favourite matcha recipes, starting with Ginger Matcha. This blend is a perfect pick-me-up, with the added bonus of immune-boosting benefits!

Ingredients:

  • Matcha (ceremonial grade)

  • Almond milk

  • Fresh ginger root

  • Maple syrup or coconut sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil water and let it cool to around 80°C. Soak your whisk (chasen) to soften it and prevent brittleness. Dispose of the water.

  2. Ensure your matcha bowl is dry, then sieve 1 scoop of matcha into it to remove clumps.

  3. Add about 60 ml of hot water to the matcha and whisk in a “W” motion until frothy.

  4. Add a splash or two of fresh ginger juice (be mindful—fresh ginger can be fiery!).

  5. Warm almond milk in a pan, then pour it into the matcha mixture. Use a handheld frother for a creamy texture.

  6. Sweeten with maple syrup or coconut sugar if you prefer a slightly sweet matcha.
